The impulses coming from the brain first reach the hand, arm and leg area with the help of the spinal cord and then the peripheral nerves and provide mobility of this region.The problem, which is called nerve compression among the people, is usually more common in the elbow area, wrist, knee and foot joint.These patients go to the doctor at first with sensory problems such as numbness and matting in their hands and legs.In the more advanced stage of the compression, pains are also observed.Both the nerve compression in the wrist, called carpal tunnel syndrome, and the elbow called cubital tunnel syndrome can be operated under local anesthesia with a small incision and patients can be discharged on the same day.
